The institute for compiliation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works sees necessary to send our condolences to the entire Muslim Ummah (community) on this sad occasion of marking and commemorating the passing away of the greatest man to have ever stepped foot on our planet - the final messenger of Allah - our beloved prophet of Islam.
Muslims mark the sad passing away of the holy prophet of Islam and martyrdom of his elder grandson, Imam Hassan al Mujtaba, on the 28th of Safar.
The honorable did not speak or advocate the cause of some particular race or ethnic group, but stood up for all humanity irrespective of race, colour, class, language or geographical barriers.
The Message he preached was universal, transgressing all obstacles whether artificial or otherwise. A Message so complete and comprehensive that it not only revolutionized the era in which it was proclaimed, but even today its timeless beauty has lost none of the original charm and continues its profound appeal to the human intellect.
The Prophet departed this world in Safar 11AH, which sparked great sorrow to the Ummah and brought to the end of revelation.
The 28th of Safar is also martyrdom of Imam Hasan Almujtaba(AS) 50 AH.
The sufferings and trials of the Prophet were the greatest being the last and greatest of all the Messengers of Allah.
Imam Khomeini, the spiritual and religious leader of the Muslim world, invited the whole Islamic community to follow footsteps of the honorable prophet of Islam Hadrat Mohammad (peace be upon him) and his infallible successors.
The greatest messenger to mankind passed away at the age of 63, after preaching for 23 years the message of peace, harmony, healthy way of life and submission to none but God the Almighty creator.
The holy prophet of Islam left behind the "Thaqalayn" (the holy Qur'an and his pure progeny) for the guidance of the Muslims and the whole world.
Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) elder grandson and 2ndinfallible heir, Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba (PBUH), was martyred at the age of 47, as a result of a fatal dose of poison, given on the orders of the corrupt rulers of the times.
The Holy Prophet of Islam was sent as a mercy to mankind. Where Allah says in the Holy Qur'an in Surah 21 verse 107 - "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds". One of the many sayings by our Holy Prophet Muhammad is as follows: "Show mercy to those on earth, and God will show mercy to you". May we all strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his Holy progeny).
